Our Mission

We work with young people who are passionate about football, but disengaged at school, in order to support them to finish school with the skills and grades to successfully transition to adulthood.

Therapeutic Approach

Our approach is built around long-term trusting relationships between young people and culturally competent practitioners with lived experience. Our counsellors and therapists marry a deep, personal understanding of the communities our young people live in with the highest level of therapeutic training and qualifications.  Find out more here.

Our Programme

Our programme is delivered to groups of up to 16 students, beginning in Year 8, and combines weekly two-hour sessions divided between one hour in the classroom and one hour on the football pitch alongside therapeutic interventions, in-school pastoral support and half-termly reward visits.

Our ImpacT

FBB impacts the lives of young people at risk of exclusion. Our students were 6.5 times more likely to achieve pass grades for their English and maths GCSEs (59%) compared to the average for students who are excluded into alternative provision (9%).
